It looks like the extension for the Port in Fuengirola will be going through soon. According to an article I read the other day in the Sur Newspaper (regional Spanish paper) The Junta de Andalucía, regional governing body, is finalising the final bureaucratic hurdle before awarding the contract for work on the harbour.
Fuengirola is a large town and municipality located at the heart of the Costa del Sol in the province of Malaga. It is a major tourist destination with 8 km of beaches and has a variety of cultural/historical attractions and an average annual temperature of 18°C.
Well the Feria de Fuengirola has been running this week. It started on the 6th and runs until tomorrow the 12th. And as tradition would have it, after a scorching summer it has rained again during the week long festivities (although it has stopped people from enjoying themselves!).
Now why am I even mentioning this Feria, you might be wondering.
It looks Fuengirola is going to have its first health Spa by 2010. The Hotel RH Plus will cost around 15 million Euros and it to be built by the promoter Reserva del Higuerón. The hotel itself will be set over 4 floors and have 137 rooms, of which 60 will be duplex suites and will be set in beautiful looking gardens with multiples pools (one of which will be covered), gymnasium, sports club and tennis courts. La Casita de Martin.
A time comes in every parent’s life when they suddenly have to do what has never been done before. Search for a kindergarten. After scouring all of Fuengirola I found the perfect Escula Infantil (kindergarten) in Fuengirola.
La casita de Martin is an absolutely wonderful place. Unlike most of its competitors it lacks for nothing. Originally a farm, in the 1970s it was converted into a kindergarten. Set on 16.000 m2 of land it is surrounded by townhouses in Los Boliches.
In keeping with its roots, there are plenty of animals (chickens, ducks, sheep, etc…) located on the premises and a firm belief that a messy child is a happy child. This after reviewing the curriculum (bi-lingual) and viewing the facilities means that the children are going to have a healthy and productive day.
Although costly by local standards if you live in the area, or plan to live in the area it is worth a visit.
