Costa del Sol Hotel

It looks Fuengirola is going to have its first health Spa by 2010. The Hotel RH Plus will cost around 15 million Euros and it to be built by the promoter Reserva del Higuerón. The hotel itself will be set over 4 floors and have  137 rooms, of which 60 will be duplex suites and will be set in beautiful looking gardens with multiples pools (one of which will be covered), gymnasium, sports club and tennis courts.

According to Javier Rodríguez, the general director of the company “We want to take our clients on a voyage from the physical to the emotional and to the spiritual”.

And based on the current concept, it looks like he intends to keep to his word. The first floor of the hotel will follow the concept of Ayurveda, an Indian concept that symbolises earth, water, fire, air and space earth. The second floor is based on the concept of Bio Yoga and involved the regeneration and energising of the body. The third, Vipassana (insight meditation) involves meditation and relaxation. And for the final ‘new age’ touch the fourth floors will follow themes of lightness and crystals and will also use old Andalusian methods, involving aromatherapy, floral essences, etc…

There will also be a first class restaurant in the 4 star hotel serving a range of healthy dishes.

Although it is unlikely that this author will be using the spa anytime soon, it will benefit the people of Fuengirola as it should help appeal to a different type of tourist and will create 150 jobs when it is up and running which can only benefit the local economy.
